Night falls fast in the little town of Hampton, Oregon, as Mist soon found out. She tucked in her white wings close to her side, ice-blue eyes warily flicking back and forth. The park was dark and very cold, and the bird kid shivered slightly as she searched for a good place to spend the night.
She was so close...SO CLOSE to joining the flock and learning there secrets. But how to find them...How to join them... All things Mist had not yet thought over. But that was OK. Because, of course, she planned to be as real as possible, and how else would you do that?

Great, it was getting dark and Max still had no idea where ANY of her flock was. She was about to blow a gasket if someone didn’t show up soon. It was bad enough that Fang had decided to take off, but now Max couldn’t find Angel, Nudge, Iggy or Gazzy. Things where not going well, Max could feel a headache starting, not a full blown, crippling, chip-in-my-arm-voice-in-my-head headache, just a run-of-the-mill stress headache. Just breath Max. She told herself, You’re probably just freaking out over nothing. Dr. Martinez was out and so was Elle. Nudge and Angel where more than likely tagging along with Elle and Dr. Martinez probably took Gazzy and Iggy with her. Fang could take care of himself, wherever he happened to be.
Max was about to leave the park when a flash of white caught her eye. “Angel?” she called out, moving towards the spot she noticed the wing, “What on earth are you doing out here at this time of the night?” No, it wasn’t Angel, or Nudge or any other member of the flock, but the girl Max saw was most definitely of the avian-human variety. It’s all about the bigger picture, Max. the Voice said. Gee, thanks for reminding me, if only you’d actually explain that, then we might make some head way. She thought back, her whole body tensing, ready for a fight. Who was this girl and what was she doing her?

The sound of footsteps reached Mist's ears, and she stiffened, blades of ice materializing in her palms. NO, she told herself sternly, Calm. It might be Max. Pretend to be a wimpy, scared little girl, and maybe she'll take you in. Mist sighed and let the ice melt. She quickly stuffed her cap into her little blue knapsack and crouched low to the ground.
Her ice-blue eyes widened, and a small smile played on her lips as she noticed Max. Mist tensed up her body; she was always like a slinky in that manner. When she was ready, she took a tentative step forwards, adopting that deer-in-the-headlights look she had perfected so well.

With her large blue eyes, golden hair and pearly wings, the experiment looked very much like an older version of Angel. Still, the girl before her was no Angel, and Max didn’t let her guard down for a moment. She was too used to harmless things turning against her, like Jeb for instance. The betrayal was still fresh in her mind, too fresh, and it would take a lot for Max to trust anyone new. Her trust was hard to gain but easy to lose, the only ones Max had ever, and would ever, trust fully was her Flock and that was only because she had watched them grow, been with them since they were born, or was it hatched? That was of little matter though, best stick with what was currently going on.
Raising an eyebrow, Max gave the girl the once over. Chances were she was as harmless as Iggy, in other words, deadly. But Max had to hesitate, she looked too much like Angel, and it pulled at her heart. Ha, who was she kidding, Angel could probably take this girl without moving a muscle. “Er,” Good one, so very intelligent Max, say something impressive. “Sorry, thought you were someone else.” Decisions, pull an up and away, or gather intell on this new arrival. It was odd, seeing another avian that wasn’t part of her Flock.

OOC:// Can she be a mute? =P Mist stared at Max, eyes still big and innocent looking. She slowly relaxed her muscles; Max wouldn't think her as much of a threat if she did not attempt to attack. She relaxed her clenched hands and sat cross-legged on the floor, taking a pack of cookies out of her pack and offering them to Max.

((If you like, just make sure it's put into her profile.))
Weird, with a capitol W Max thought to herself, staring at the hybrid before her. "My mom always said, 'Don't take candy from strangers'" Max said sweetly, a sarcastic note to her voice. "Who are you? More importantly, what the hell are you doing?" she demanded, it didn't matter how much the other girl relaxed, there was no way Max eas going to let down her gaurd. She had been caught too many times with her back turned so-to-speak, and there was no way she was letting it happen again. There was no telling what this girl was capable of, she could simply be one of the many experiments her and the girls had 'liberated' from Itex, or a new experiment, with allegiances and hidden motives. Trust no one. Max had always told the Flock, they couldn't afford friends, not with being on the run like they usually are. You need to trust Max, her Voice spoke up, Trust yourself and trust your instincts. Max rolled her eyes, Great, more fortune cookie advice.

OOC:// Aright =D Mist glared at the hybrid, annoyed already with her sarcastic tone of voice. She placed a slim white hand on the floor, channeling her power into thesoft green grass. It froze almost instantly, a shining expanse of ice-cold slippery.... ice.
She slipped a small pocketknife and started to write on the ice, chiseling out words on it. When she was finally finished, Mist gently picked up the ice and pushed it towards Max.
"I'm sorry. I can't talk, they experimented on me...
I'm Mist. Who are you?"
The message said.

Max tensed, ready to attack as the ice inched away from the other girl's hands. What the H is this? She needed to find her Flock, not beat another avian down. The pocket knife appeared in the other's hand and Max crouched, ready to spring the moment she moved towards her. But the other girl made no move to attack, just to scrape at the ice. Cautionsly, Max moved closer so that she could see the writting. Great, another one, Max shook her head. She could only imagine what the girl, Mist, was feeling, Max had seen first hand what it had done to Iggy. "I'm sorry." the words were out of her mouth before she even thought about it. The wierd part? She actually meant it! She actually flippin meant it! You're getting soft, Max. she warned herself. "I'm Max, Maximum Ride. she introduced, not sure what she was going to do with this girl.

Maximum Ride. So she was right. Mist smiled softly and etched more word in the ice.
Can You Read Sign Language?
Mist blinked her large blue eyes and gazed at Max, wondering if Max would feel sorry enough for her to take her in. She slowly extended her large, black-streaked white wings, airing them out in the cold black night.
Mist's curly blonde hair waved a little in the gentle breeze, and she had the sudden urge to fly.

Sign language? Ha! Max had never been to school, she didn't know proper English, could barely spell and only knew how to read thanks to the joy that is the internet. Sign language? No, she did not know that. "Er, no, sorry." came the more polite version of what was running through her head. "I can read though." she laughed., she really needed to find the Flock and get out of this park. She ran a slightly grimy hand through her hair, what was she suposed to do? Voice? How about some of your advice right about now? she called out, hoping for a reply. Of course not, the Voice only spoke when she didn't want any advice. Shifting from foot to foot, Max regarded the girl, weighing her options. There was no way she could bring her back to the Flock, Max didn't know a thing about her, there was no way she was risking her Flock like that.
