Her wings snapped open, allowing the young flock member to continue soaring but without flapping her white colored wings. It was night, she was tired, but sleep wouldn't come to her. It wasn't as dangerous to fly by herself, but that didn't mean danger wasn't there. As Angel looked around, she held Celeste tightly, wondering what Max would do she if found out. For sometime during the flight, Angel considered going back and trying to sleep, but so far, she carried on. A frown crossed her face, hoping she wouldn't be in too much trouble, but there was nothing she could do now. Hopefully she could act all innocent but she doubted Max would be fooled. Oh well, it was too late now, and as she coasted downwards, her feet touched the ground and her wings folded towards her back.
Dressed in pants and a jacket with shoes, Angel glanced around, now knowing this was a stupid move. It was dark, and the park was more creepy at night than at day. Gulping, Angel looked around and held Celeste even more tightly in her hands. She heard sounds, and hoped it was any members of the flock, but didn't move. She soon relaxed a little, remembering she wasn't human and could kick butt if she needed to. Even so, she was still a little scare. Never had she been in the park at night, by herself. As she slightly opened her wings again, ready for lift off, something made her stop.

The night was black, Angel wasn't in her bed. Max didn't know, Fang hadn't told her. She was sleeping too soundly. He had leaped from the window of his and Iggy's bedroom and flew around, looking for his little 'sister'. She wasn't biologically related bu they might as well have been. Flying over Hampton at night was cool, less danger for him, his wings were black so blended in with the night sky better. No lights were on in the mall, she couldn't be there, people would see her. Fang suddenly remembered she could push peoples' minds into a decision she wanted, what if she had told a guard to let her in and forget about her? Now wasn't time to think of that, he had to find her before day break. He had around five hours to do it then. In the late winter, the sun didn't rise until at least half eight. Fang's two wings drifted him over the park. The street lamps were on and the fountain was still pumping water.
"Angel!" he called from the air, "Angel, are you there?" A worried tone could be heard in his groggy voice. He started to descend into a tree, at least then if there was people below there was less chance of him being seen. He climbed down from the, leafless tree after folding his wings and putting on his jacket to hide him from the winter chill. As his feet touched the ground again, after around half an hour flying a shiver ran up his spine. It felt good to fly, freely and without a care but on the ground he was like everyone else, normal. Well, apart from the wings and the invisibility thing he had going off. He could see a little person ahead in the path. Could it be Angel? He started to jog to the life. After seeing beautiful white wings he thought it must be Angel. He saw Celeste now.
"Angel," he said, panting in relief, "I was so worried, lets get you home quickly. Max doesn't know." He held out his hand for her and Celeste.

The winters chill bit at her exposed skin, making her shiver and wrap her wings more around her body. Now that she was standing and not moving, the chill seemed to want to attack her more and it was now when she realized she should have stayed behind. She didn't want to get sick, that would mean she couldn't help the rest of the flock! And that wouldn't be too good. There were voices coming from a little further away, the sound of the fountain was calming, almost like a lullaby. Her eyes half closed and she swayed on her feet, wondering if she was actually sleeping. That illusion was shattered when she heard a voice, a voice she didn't hear all that often, but it was a sound she knew. Busted. Angel thought to herself, and turned around to face Fang, who had held out his hand for her to take. "I thought Max would know." Angel spoke softly, her voice barely above a whisper. She didn't want those other voices to interrupt them.
Fang was her older brother, it didn't matter if they were not related by blood. Gazzy was her only biological brother, but she still classed the flock as her family. They had been through so much, they grew up together. And even if they drifted apart(which Angel doubted, their bond was too strong), they would always be family. They have looked after one another, made sure each stayed safe. As she looked at Fang, she smiled softly. She was half glad it was him that found her and not Max, but she supposed Max would find out sooner or later. It was no good keeping secrets and she reached out and grabbed Fang's hand with her own small hand, walking closer to him. Without warning, she hugged him, holding him tight for a moment. She may have been a tough little cookie, but even she needed hugs on the occasion. "I'm sorry, I couldn't sleep. Thought a night flight would help." Angel added, breaking away and making sure Celeste was still within her grasp.
As she looked around at the night around her, she quickly found herself wanting to be back with the others. At least she was warm and safe with them. Next time she would wake Max or talk to Fang, then she wouldn't worry the flock. "I'm sorry for worrying you." Angel glanced up into Fang's eyes with her own blue ones, her sorry was sincere. She hadn't meant to worry anyone.

Fang smiled at the little girl's answer. "Yeah," he said, "You know what she's like though, she wakes up at the slightest sound. You must have been silent. I only found you when i woke up to close the window, probably the one you leapt out of." He said this with a smile on his face, telling off wasn't his job and you couldn't tell Angel of, she was a little angel. He felt her hand slip into his and he held her hand firmly, it was cold.
Fang felt little arms grasp around his waist and looked down to see Angel hugging him. He smiled and knelt down, one foot on the ground and one knee. He hugged her back. "It's ok," he said, in reply to waht she said, "Maybe just tell one of us first." He smiled and stood back up, "Now you say it," he said, grinning, "I don't feel much like sleeping at the moment. Max can't tell both of us off anyway, if she did you could just play a few mind tricks on her." At this he started rolling his eyes as though he was hypnotised andin a trance. He spotted a secluded corner of the park with only grass and a few flowers and he ran over there with Angel. After sitting and putting Angel on his lap he said, "I wonder how my blogs doing, i havn't checked for a few days now." He laughed, he didn't need a computer when he had his family.

"I'm a lot more silent now." Angel agreed. Growing up with Max as the leader, she had finally learned how to be more silent so she wouldn't wake Max up. Although she knew not to do it again, what if something had happened? Angel pushed the thought away, her bright smile was still on her face as she kept her gaze on her big brother. His hand was firmly grasped so she wasn't able to get out of it, and she didn't want to, and she noticed how smaller her hands were compared to others. I'm only six years old, duh! Angel thought to herself after a moment. "I will. And thats a promise." She laughed softly as she watched him, even though he could stay silent for hours, he could always make her and the others smile. Sometimes they needed it too.
She had always wondered about trying to use her ability on Max, but never wanted to. Plus Max had told her off for using it before, when she wasn't in danger, and she didn't want Max to be angry with her. "It just feels weird, I keep expecting something to happen." Angel frowned for a moment. "But I'm glad. We are all together and thats what matters." Her smile was back, talking about her family was something that always brought a smile on her face, even if she was upset and crying. She didn't get a chance to say anything else, she was off running beside Fang before being pulled onto his lap. She leaned her head against his chest, cuddling into him like a little sister cuddles into their older brother, and felt more safe. If anything happened, she knew Fang would protect her. "How many hits has your blog gotten?" Angel asked, curious was laced in her voice. But laughter was next, as she listened to Fang laugh, her own laugh came forth. It was nice to sit and be happy, laugh and be with those you care for.

"The blog?" he started, "Well, last time i checked it was getting a bout a hundred, thousand an hour." He smiled, hits on the blog had cooled down after Itex was destroyed.
As Angel hugged into his chest again, Fang felt strong and powerful, he wished maybe Max would do the same but he knew she was too proud. He stroked her hair, maybe she would fall asleep, he was strong enough to carry her and Celeste. She was light, even for a six year old. All of the flock were because of the avian genes. They made their bones very light so it was easier to fly.
The stars glinted, was there life on those planets up there too? Maybe freaks like him, he wasn't a freak in his mind. How many normal kids would do anything to have wings and be able to fly? He opened his wings, this ripped his jacket but he didn't mind, it was a very old one. He wrapped his wings around him and Angel to keep them warm. He started to hum a lullaby Jeb would sing to them when they were younger, although he hated Jeb, the lullaby brought happy memories. Memories of his mum, he couldn't remember what she looked like but he remembered her hug. It was tight and warm.
It was times like this, when you were holding someone more vulnerable than yourself that you truly felt special. He could protect this little body, and would, everyday if he had to. She was like flesh and blood and didn't want to loose her or the flock. He kissed Angel's forehead softly, hardly touching. What had gotten over him? He wasn't normally like this, not even with Max. Maybe he was changing a bit.

She took a moment to glance up at Fang, smiling softly as she felt his wings wrap around her and Fang, keeping them warm. A yawn escaped her lips as she cuddled more into him. Her body was warming up more as the feathers of Fang's wings acted like a blanket. As she began to get tired, she heard Fang hum the lullaby. "Thats alot." Angel whispered, her voice so soft and quiet, most people wouldn't think she had spoken a thing, they would have thought it was the wind. Even though there wasn't a wind, nor a breeze, that ran through the park. But she knew Fang would hear, she was close enough that he would hear anything she said, not matter how quiet her voice would become.
She gripped Celeste more tightly, it was like a security blanket and she went everywhere with that teddy bear. Some needed something to hold onto, and it felt warm and snug within her arms as she rested against Fang. To her, both Fang and Max were like siblings, and then they would be like parental figures, than siblings again. It was certain things they did, but they were held in a very special place in her heart. Same with Gazzy and Iggy, and don't forget about Nudge. Her one most biggest fear was losing the Flock, and so far, none of them had died. She didn't really want to think about life if one had died, it would be too painful for the happy and still innocent bird kid.
Then, her blue colored eyes closed, her breathing became more light and relaxing as she began to fall asleep in Fang's arms, er wings rather. Nestled against him with his wings as her blanket, plus the lullaby, sleep came rather quickly. Even though she was sleeping, her grip never wavered from Celeste. Warmth spread through her body, good memories of her and the flock wavered through her mind, dreams of bliss was what she would have.

Fang heard a little whisper escape the lips of Angel. He smiled and kissed again. He felt her body go slightly limp, she must be tiring,he thought. He rocked her in his arms and very gently stood up, trying to wake her. His little sis' needed her sleep more than the rest of the flock. He walked over to a bench and stepped up onto it. He removed his wings from around Angel's sleeping body and flapped hard, after three hard flaps they were in the air, flying home. As he rose higher into the air he held tighter onto Angel, if he dropped her he would never forgive himself, even if she did have wings, she might not wake up in time.
After passing over the park the main town greeted him and his passengers, not forgetting Celeste. The lights were still on and voices could be hidden from the late night party goers. He could just see girls with skimpy skirts and tops on, if Iggy was here, Fang knew he would have to describe the sights to him, Ig was blind remember. Fang saw the distant house that was where the flock lived. One light was on, it always was though. It was a street lamp outside.
They were still half a mile from the house however he slowed down to make sure Angel was asleep, he could then say she was sleep flying if Max caught them. No, that wouldn't work. Well, they would both be better of in bed so as he flew the last few hundred meters and descended to the window he made sure Angel was asleep. The window was still open after his taking off so he could easily get in it. He flew in and silently closed the window. He top-toed past Iggy and exited the room finding Angel's room opposite. He placed her in the bed and sat in a chair in the room for a while. "Night baby," he said, silently.
