The lights went out again, beginning the sparse hours of Tithe’s artificial night. Inching her way through the inky black, Tithe waited for the switches to flip in her head and wake her night vision from dormancy. It took a couple seconds and then shapes began to appear, dark outlines at first and then objects with complete detail. Soon the small room that had been hers for the past three years became clear as day to her, the small dark green cot at one corner, the white, porcelain toilet in the other. Other than that the room was unfurnished, a room of cold, grey stone, no windows and a solid steel door. A prison, in every sense of the word.

Tithe eased herself onto the overly stiff cot, wrinkling her nose once again as the sharp scent of cleaning fluid wafted up into her face. She hated that smell more than anything but at least her cell was clean. She on the other hand was not. Her tawny brown hair hung in greasy coils over her shoulders. Dried blood clung to her hands and face in thick smears; her fingernails and cloths were heavily stained with it and she knew that soon the scientists would force her into a new set of the painfully white T-shirt and sweatpants that seemed to be the ever common uniform around here. She also knew that by mealtime, this new outfit would be nearly as filthy as the old one. It wasn’t easy to eat neatly on a meal of raw meat still clinging to the carcass.

Created For: Tithe was part of a similar project as the Rooks, meaning she was created simply to see if a hybrid could be created from two preexisting subjects.

Extra Powers: Tithe is capable of breathing fire but she doesn’t do it often because the flames burn her mouth and throat. Her eyesight is very keen, capable of focusing in on distant things in the same way raptor vision works.

Overall Appearance: Tithe has a very conspicuous appearance that is difficult to downplay. She has a 17ft wingspan. Her wings are the color of old steel with four claws at the crooks that are capable of gripping things. Her skin has a shimmery glint to it, the only hint of the tough but very flexible scales that lie between the flesh and muscle of her entire body. As seen in the signature, she has several steel discs implanted in her skin, steel vertebras that line her spine, and a network of cords and chips (mostly steel) implanted into her hands. These are explained in her Brief History. She also has retractable claws that can overlap her normal fingernails (same is true of her toenails) and a second set of teeth, or rather, a mouthful of fangs that are also retractable and can overlap her normal ones.

Clothing Style: Tithe doesn’t have much for clothes. Her main outfit consists of a durable leather halter top and a faded pair of jeans. She has a full length coat of soft caribou hide adorned with wolf fur, Norwegian embroidery, and character marked steel clasps, her only article of clothing left from her former life. As for shoes, she either goes barefoot or wears an oversized and almost never laced pair of combat boots.

General Personality: Tithe loves to tick people off mainly because she angers so easily herself. She's pretty confident, sometimes to a fault. She doesn't really seem to like being near people very much and she never fully trusts anyone. In short, she's edgy, touchy, and not afraid to bite.

family members: Tithe did have family before Chimera Co. got her but the details are very hazy for her.

One Good Memory: Tithe once shredded the hand of a Chimera Co. employee thanks to a faulty restraint.

Brief History:

The Experiment that led to Tithe’s creation began well before her time. For a great many purposes, Chimera Co. set about trying to create a real live Dragon and after several years of failure they finally succeeded. The creature was roughly the size of an African elephant, capable of flight and breathing fire (though, like Tithe this caused the creature harm as well). At first the Dragon seemed to be an overall success but it turned out to be very unstable and its health began to quickly fail, until it died. Tithe, then named Nikolina Haldis, was captured off the streets and turned into a hybrid in the same manner as the Rooks were, using the organs, appendages, blood, and DNA of the Dragon. Like the Dragon, Tithe was very unstable and she would have suffered the same fate as her counterpart if not for the efforts of a scientist named Nathaniel Cole. It was Cole’s idea to support her skeletal structure with steel replacements and penetrate certain places in her scaly armor to allow special infusions to enter her body on a regular basis. These weak points in her armor are covered by the steel plates. The discs and wiring between her neck and ears are another source for these critical infusions. As for the wiring on her hands, these make the transition of the unsheathing and retracting of her claws a little easier on her nervous system.
