All was quiet and serene as Amaya picked her way through the ruins. The sun warming her dark skin as she basked in its glow. She wore a simple outfit of tattered jeans and a light purple tank top, a pair of ratty sneakers on her feet. She felt lost, disjointed, unsure of where to go or what to do with herself. Clambering up what may have once been a wall, Amaya lay her long, lean body down, her head cushioned on her arm and one leg and her other arm swinging freely, her body now several feet off the ground.
Amaya purred with content as she closed her emerald eyes, leaving her other senses to keep guard. She frowned, sadness etching into the lines of her face. Where was Dinesh? The thought flittered through her mind followed by a prick of panic. Just hunting. she told herself calmly, He’ll be back soon, you’ll see. she settled back down, so unused to being completely alone. It had always been Amaya and Dinesh, the twins so different, yet exactly the same. The hybrid sighed and relaxed, letting her heightened senses roam the ruins, searching out the slightest rustle, an unplaced scent.

The ruins was a good place to rest for a hunter. The blue skies above called to Cam as he watched the birds fly. He began to trace a path with his finger. Every day at 3:00 pm a single goose would fly over him. It was as if it was continuing to haunt him. Just one goose- Cam was sure of it. It was testing its luck. Animals knew better than to form habits. In his fourteen year old form, Cam looked a bit messed up. He wore black clothes and his sunglasses were pushed up to his forehead, his eyes the only thing that wasn't changed.
Then he noticed someone else in the ruins. He just caught a glimpse of a purple dress, or something along those lines. Cam cautiously sat up, wondering who it was. Were they dangerous? Cam got up and began to walk toward the place where he saw the purple. As he looked around, he saw someone- she had tattered jeans and a purple tank top.
He quickly changed his eyes into a more reasonable color- blue. Just to be safe.

A new sound, a slight shuffle of feet on grass, a smell on the breeze, not unpleasant, but still out of place. Amaya stiffened, her muscles bunching and tightening, waiting, determining if it was friend or foe. Though her eyes stayed closed, she followed the new comer's presents, her sensitive ears following even the tiniest whisper of cloth. No longer alone I guess. she chuckled in her mind as the boy got closer.
Opening her startling emerald eyes, Amaya sat up, swinging both her legs over the edge of the wall, her hands planted beside her as she waited to be found. No way was she leaving her high post for the meeting, she had no idea who was stalking around. Her eyes flitted about, searching for exit strategies, better fighting positions, anything that she could use for future reference. These ruins where as fimiliar to her as the face of her brother, ever since they had relocated to this town, Amaya had spent her time clambering around these ruins and running through these woods.
Amaya smiled, a fang poking threw ever so slightly. "Hullo there." she called out, her voice entwined in her accent, yet still easily understood.

Cam's ear perked with the sound of a foreign accent. There was something about accents that made him instantly suspicious. Those with foreign accent were obviously new, and newcomers were normally the first to attack and to kill. Cam had been there before. The fact that the foreigner was hanging around in the ruins only added to Cam's suspicion.
Luckily, Cam was a good actor.
"Hello? Anyone there?" he called out into the air, as he walked out from behind the rubble, looking around, confused. Cam's eyes were blue, though the slits were still there. It still would've given him away, but his caution made him wary enough to be ready for a fight.
